Unstoppable” Brings the True Story of Anthony Robles to the Screen
The inspiring journey of Anthony Robles, a one-legged wrestler who overcame adversity to become an NCAA champion, comes to life in Unstoppable. The film, directed by Academy Award-winning editor William Goldenberg (Argo), premieres in select theaters on December 6, 2024, and will be available on Prime Video starting January 16, 2025.

Starring Moonlight’s Jharrel Jerome as Robles, alongside Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Bobby Cannavale, and Michael Peña, Unstoppable showcases Anthony’s determination to succeed despite the odds. With the unwavering support of his mother Judy (Lopez) and his coaches, Anthony battles through physical and mental challenges to earn his place as an Arizona State University wrestler and ultimately an NCAA champion.
Anthony Robles, who serves as a producer on the film, also makes an on-screen appearance as his own wrestling double, performing complex moves. Jerome, who trained extensively with Robles, worked closely with him to embody the athlete’s physicality and resilience.
Produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity, the film is based on Robles’ book co-written with Austin Murphy. The screenplay is by Eric Champnella, Alex Harris, and John Hindman. Notably, Unstoppable employed Accessibility Coordinators from IndieVisible to ensure inclusivity on set, offering tools for all cast and crew members.
Unstoppable promises a heartfelt blend of biography, drama, and sports, earning its PG-13 rating for its emotional intensity and inspiring journey. It’s a celebration of the human spirit, family, and the power of perseverance.
