Bridging the Digital Divide: Senior Tech Conference Returns September 2

Empowering Older Adults Through Technology, Education, and Connection

By Urban Trendsetters Staff

Technology continues to transform nearly every aspect of daily life—from healthcare and banking to communication, entertainment, and shopping. Yet for many older adults, navigating today’s digital world can feel overwhelming. That’s why community leaders and technology advocates are once again coming together to present one of Central Ohio’s most anticipated educational events for seniors.

The 4th Annual Senior Tech Conference will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Fawcett Center in Columbus, offering a full day of technology education, hands-on learning, networking, and fun for adults ages 55 and older.

Presented with support from community partners and aging advocates, the conference is designed to help older adults gain confidence using technology while discovering tools that can improve independence, enhance communication, strengthen financial security, and enrich everyday life.

What began as a community effort to bridge the digital divide has quickly grown into one of the region’s premier senior-focused technology events. Following strong attendance in previous years, organizers anticipate another exciting gathering filled with practical resources, expert instruction, and interactive experiences.

Attendees will have access to a variety of educational breakout sessions covering topics that are increasingly important in today’s digital landscape. Workshops are expected to explore subjects such as online safety, cybersecurity, financial wellness, digital banking, mobile applications, telehealth services, social media, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies that impact everyday life.

One of the most popular features of the conference continues to be its hands-on learning opportunities. Seniors will have the chance to work directly with technology professionals and volunteers who can answer questions, provide guidance, and help participants build confidence using computers, smartphones, tablets, and digital platforms.

In addition to educational programming, attendees will enjoy interactive exhibits and demonstrations designed to showcase how technology can be both useful and enjoyable. Previous conferences featured gaming experiences, virtual reality demonstrations, and opportunities for participants to explore innovative tools in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The Vendor Connection Zone will once again provide attendees with access to organizations, service providers, healthcare resources, financial institutions, and technology companies that offer products and services specifically designed to support older adults. These connections help seniors discover new resources while learning about programs available throughout the community.

Organizers emphasize that the conference is about more than technology. It is about empowerment, lifelong learning, and helping older adults remain connected in an increasingly digital world. Whether participants are beginners learning basic skills or experienced users interested in the latest innovations, there will be opportunities for everyone to learn something new.

As technology continues to evolve, events like the Senior Tech Conference play an important role in ensuring that older adults are not left behind. By providing access, education, and hands-on experiences, the conference helps build confidence and opens doors to new possibilities.

The conference is free to attend, but registration is encouraged due to anticipated demand.

For seniors looking to expand their digital knowledge, connect with community resources, and discover how technology can enhance their quality of life, the 2026 Senior Tech Conference promises to be a day of learning, engagement, and inspiration.
