BIN Partners with The Obama Foundation to Elevate Black Youth and Community Engagement

In a landmark collaboration, BIN: Black Information Network and The Obama Foundation have announced a multi-year partnership to drive meaningful community engagement and youth empowerment. This first-of-its-kind nonprofit collaboration for BIN marks a historic step in aligning trusted Black media with one of the most influential foundations of our time, committed to equity, civic leadership, and social progress.
The collaboration unites BIN’s 24/7 national audio news platform — known for delivering fact-based and culturally relevant news — with The Obama Foundation’s expansive initiatives that inspire young people to become changemakers in their communities. Together, they aim to inform, inspire, and activate action across generations.
“This powerful collaboration will deliver important, unbiased information to our audiences, promote civic engagement, and foster inclusive dialogue,” said Tony Coles, President of BIN. “Our responsibility is to ensure the stories, commitment, and goals of civic and community leaders are heard by our listeners and carried forward by future generations.”
For The Obama Foundation, the partnership provides a powerful media vehicle to amplify the transformative work happening on the ground. Valerie Jarrett, CEO of the Foundation, emphasized the impact this alignment could have:
“Working together, we will amplify the critical work of leaders making a difference in their communities and elevate stories of progress, unity, and justice to a wider audience.”
The collaboration will shine a spotlight on several of the Foundation’s most impactful initiatives, including:
- The Leaders Program: cultivating emerging global changemakers;
- My Brother’s Keeper Alliance: uplifting boys and young men of color;
- Girls Opportunity Alliance: promoting education for adolescent girls worldwide;
- Obama Foundation Scholars: supporting rising leaders with a commitment to service and innovation.
BIN will also be instrumental in supporting the lead-up to the highly anticipated Obama Presidential Center, set to open in 2026 on the South Side of Chicago. Through storytelling and national dialogue, BIN will elevate the Center’s community-based mission, President Obama’s enduring legacy, and the values of democracy and equity.
With a monthly reach of over 19 million listeners and national distribution across 250+ platforms, including major markets like Atlanta, New York, and D.C., BIN offers an unprecedented platform to uplift and unify the Black community around purpose, power, and progress.
As both organizations continue to shape narratives and drive systemic change, this partnership stands as a call to action — and a reminder — that the future is being written now, by those bold enough to lead it.
