“Timeless Traditions in Every Mix” Celebrates Culture, Community, and Caribbean Joy

ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The rhythm of the Caribbean is calling, and it’s coming from St. Croix. The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism and the Division of Festivals have officially announced dates for one of the Caribbean’s most beloved celebrations: the 2025–26 St. Croix Crucian Christmas Festival, happening December 26, 2025, through January 3, 2026.

This annual holiday tradition blends music, pageantry, food, and community pride into a cultural experience unlike any other. With this year’s theme — “Timeless Traditions in Every Mix” — the festival promises to deliver nine unforgettable days of color, flavor, and Crucian creativity.

A Celebration of Culture and Community

From the first beat of the drum to the last burst of fireworks, the Crucian Christmas Festival is a full-body experience. Visitors and locals alike can immerse themselves in St. Croix’s rich history and vibrant arts scene through a lineup of events that showcase the island’s diversity and unity.

Signature events include:

  • Princess and Miss St. Croix Pageants – highlighting the grace, intelligence, and talent of local queens.
  • Calypso Monarch and Soca Monarch Competitions – where lyrical mastery and rhythm ignite the stage.
  • The Famous Food Fair – featuring authentic island dishes, local vendors, and a celebration of Crucian cuisine.
  • J’ouvert Morning – a sunrise street party filled with music, paint, and pure joy.
  • Children’s Parade (Jan. 2) and Adults Parade (Jan. 3) – vibrant displays of cultural pride through costumes, music, and dance.
  • Last Lap Village Night – ending the festival with fireworks, live music, and memories that last a lifetime.

“Timeless Traditions in Every Mix”

I am thrilled to welcome everyone, from the Virgin Islands diaspora to first-time visitors, to experience the magic of the Crucian Christmas Festival,” said Jennifer Matarangas-King, U.S. Virgin Islands Commissioner of Tourism. “St. Croix’s culture is one of vast pride and diverse distinction, and this year’s festival will again deliver unforgettable music, food, and entertainment while celebrating the traditions that make our island so unique.”

The theme captures the heart of what makes St. Croix special — a mix of African, Caribbean, and European influences woven together by centuries of resilience and joy. The festival isn’t just a party; it’s a living, breathing expression of heritage passed from generation to generation.

Nightly Vibes at Festival Village

The Festival Village serves as the epicenter of nightly entertainment. From December 29 to January 3, the stage will feature free live performances from top local, regional, and international artists — a lineup sure to get everyone dancing under the stars.

Beyond the music, visitors can explore the island’s arts and crafts market, savor local delicacies at food stalls, and enjoy family-friendly activities that showcase the warmth and creativity of the Crucian people.

Travel Made Easy

If you’re planning your next island escape, here’s good news: U.S. citizens do not need a passport to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Just pack your sunscreen, your favorite festival fits, and your appetite for adventure.

Located about 40 miles east of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands — St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas — offer breathtaking beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a cultural blend that’s both rich and welcoming.
