Nordstrom Partners with Harlem’s Fashion Row to Launch Three Capsule Collections
Nordstrom has teamed up with Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) to unveil a series of capsule collections that reimagine the Nordstrom brand through the creativity of three Black designers: Megan Renee, House of Aama, and Harbison. The collaboration, launched on September 12, brings unique fashion perspectives to Nordstrom customers both online and in select stores.
Harlem’s Fashion Row, known for bridging the gap between brands and designers of color, partnered with Nordstrom to give a platform to these designers and their collections. “We’re excited to introduce these three capsule collections that reimagine our Nordstrom brand,” said Nina Barjesteh, President of Nordstrom Product Group. “We’ve worked hand-in-hand with each designer to bring their visions to life, offering beautiful, distinct collections at a great price point.”
The collections offer a variety of styles for both women and men, featuring vibrant colors, bold prints, and tailored silhouettes. Each designer brings a unique approach:
- Megan Renee: Known for her bold and feminine designs, Megan Renee’s collection features eye-catching prints and exaggerated shapes. Highlights include off-the-shoulder bodysuits, faux leather skirts, and abstract puff sleeve dresses that blend elegance with a touch of daring.
- House of Aama: Drawing from the African Diaspora Dandy Culture, House of Aama’s capsule collection showcases intricate tailoring and motifs inspired by antiquity pottery and sculpture design. The collection includes pinstripes, checks, and asymmetrical cuts, with standout pieces like graphic button-downs, chore jackets, and tonal striped pants.
- Harbison: Inspired by his mother’s elegant, utilitarian style, Harbison’s collection is a celebration of color, texture, and pattern. Red poppy prints grace pleated maxi dresses, lounge pants, and satin scarves, while matching sets and transitional trench coats add versatility to the collection.
Brandice Daniel, CEO and Founder of Harlem’s Fashion Row, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration is not just about showcasing the creativity of designers like Megan Renee, Harbison, and House of Aama—it’s a celebration of Black consumers’ cultural and economic power. We’re presenting a collection that redefines fall fashion while honoring the importance of supporting diverse talent in our industry.”
Nordstrom’s collaboration with Harlem’s Fashion Row extends beyond fashion collections. The retailer has supported HFR’s annual Fashion Show and Style Awards, as well as initiatives like Black Business Month and ICON360, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting diverse designers. Through events like the annual HBCU Professor Retreat and the 360 Fashion Scholarship for HBCU students, Nordstrom and HFR are committed to fostering lasting change and opportunities for underrepresented talent in the fashion industry.
The capsule collections are available in 20 Nordstrom locations nationwide and online, with prices ranging from $45 for a baby tee to $299 for a coat. Nordstrom shoppers can explore these distinctive designs in stores such as the NYC Flagship, South Park in Charlotte, NorthPark Center in Dallas, and more.
