Black Romance Book Festival to Host Over 125 Authors in Atlanta
The 2025 Black Romance Book Fest (BRBF) is set to captivate readers, authors, and literary enthusiasts from May 30 to June 1, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. This transformative event will bring together over 1,800 attendees and more than 125 authors, making it a monumental celebration of Black storytelling in romance literature.
Featured authors include literary icons such as Beverly Jenkins, Kennedy Ryan, Jasmine Guillory, and Tia Williams, among others, showcasing the vast talent and creativity within the Black literary community. Through panels, workshops, book signings, and engaging activities, BRBF promises an immersive experience celebrating love, culture, and creativity.
Since its announcement in May 2024, BRBF has grown from a grassroots initiative into a vibrant movement, gaining momentum through platforms like Instagram (Bookstagram) and creating excitement among readers. “The Black Romance Book Fest is more than just a festival—it’s a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together with purpose and passion,” said event organizer and author Lauren Lacey.
One of the central missions of BRBF is to uplift Black authors whose work often faces systemic marginalization. By providing a platform for these storytellers, the festival amplifies their voices and connects them with an audience eager to celebrate and support their contributions.
In addition to celebrating literature, BRBF is committed to fostering future generations of Black creatives. The festival will award scholarships to four students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), reflecting its dedication to community investment and equity.
BRBF’s growth highlights the power of grassroots movements and community-driven advocacy in transforming the literary landscape. It is not just an event but a space where Black love stories and their authors are celebrated on a grand scale.
