Nationwide — Deion Sanders shared that he will undergo a medical procedure to treat blood clots in his legs, but remains positive he’ll return to coaching at Colorado soon.
During a recent news conference, the 58-year-old football head coach said the surgery at UCHealth would take about four hours. He didn’t give specific details but made it clear that the condition isn’t linked to his coaching workload.
“It has nothing to do with me working at the level that I’m trying to compete at,” he said, according to TMZ. “It’s hereditary, it is what it is. There’s nothing that I could have done to stop what’s transpiring.”
Sanders said his faith keeps him steady as he prepares for the procedure. “I trust God with all my heart, all my soul, and all my mind,” he said, expressing calm confidence about his recovery.
Even while discussing his health, Sanders kept things lighthearted. He joked about looking forward to the anesthesia, calling it his version of “Snoop D-O-double-G,” adding that he’s never tried drugs or alcohol but finds the post-surgery feeling amusing.
