COLUMBUS, Ohio, – The Dispatch Printing Co. (the “Company” or “Dispatch Printing”) is pleased to announce that the Company has completed the sale of The Columbus Dispatch as well as other print assets to New Media Investment Group Inc. (“New Media” or “NEWM”).
The Dispatch has served Ohio since 1871, offering coverage of state and local government, sports, entertainment and other subjects. Its current weekday circulation stands at over 130,000 – with a 235,000 circulation on Sundays.
The transaction also includes the sale of the Company’s other print publications including Columbus Monthly, Crave, Capital Style, Columbus CEO and ThisWeek Community Newspapers.
John F. Wolfe, chairman of the Company, expressed confidence that “this deal will ensure that the Dispatch continues to serve Ohio well into the future.”
The Wolfe family will retain its ownership of WBNS-TV (CBS) in Columbus, WTHR-TV (NBC) in Indianapolis, Capitol Square Ltd. (real estate), as well as WBNS-AM and WBNS-FM and Agricultural Lands, Inc.
